The implementation of digital mixers in theater sound systems ensures maximum flexibility in realizing sometimes complex and challenging sound concepts. In many open-air venues, it is hardly possible to arrange the speakers in the conventional way like in a movie theater, plus the local noise emission levels must be observed. To ensure best speech intelligibility, acoustical ranging as well as a "good sound" in all seats though, the sound signals are processed and split again. Needless to say, external audio sources likemusic, commercial recordings, or microphone announcements can be integrated without any problems as well.
