DOK Leipzig with open-air cinema at the main station of Leipzig

The International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animation Film celebrated its 59th edition from the 31st October till the 6th November 2016 and was able to hold the record level of last year with 48.000 visitors. DOK Leipzig is the largest German and second largest documentary film festival in Europe. True to its tradition as a "window to the world", DOK Leipzig presented a total of 309 animations and documentaries from over 49 countries to its audience.

BIG cinema has been an accredited film festival partner of DOK Leipzig for eight years now, providing not only technical equipment but also extensive know-how in the field of festival support. Through the proven Theater Management System "Screenwriter" 1 we guaranteed that all films were presented at the right time in the right cinema hall.

This year, too, the Osthalle at Leipzig's main station turned into a unique open-air cinema setting. The successful one-day guerrilla premiere from last year was extended to a total of six nights with public film screenings from the official selection of the festival. All in all, 3.200 visitors experienced great cinema moments on a 10 x 5 meter AIRSCREEN canvas – installed and supervised by BIG cinema in the usual professional and professional manner.
